One of the best parts of being a kid is the Holiday’s. Luckily I grew up with a big family. They were fun, had great hearts (I mean that in the kind way. In the healthy way we have terrible hearts) awesome, always down for a good time and they loved to eat.
Every semester while I was attending a very prestigious community college back in Ohio I would change my major. “What are you this semester?” my mom would say with a smug look on her face and holding a cup of coffee. “Communications!” I would say all excited. She wasn’t as excited as I was, in fact, she would give me her “where did I go wrong face?” and walk away.
I’ve noticed over the years that I am slowly turning into my parents and I got to tell you. I love it. I can’t think of two better souls to take after. My folks are the most simple, honest, hard working, loving and arms wide open accepting people I’ve ever met.
I always thought it was a beautiful idea to support local businesses and I do. It’s just that convenience is so….convenient.
I was approached by some ladies asking me if I would be interested in developing recipes for a vegan cafe. Not really but I thought what the hell, it’s a challenge. I made numerous items for them, shipped off a ton of samples, conference calls once a week that were a waste of time and I was even grilled by the NYPD Investigation Unit regarding these ladies.
