Connecting and supporting each other is what I originally intended to do with this whole writing and pastry blog. That wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, but I’m making progress.
We are always looking for something or someone to tell us what we need to hear. If someone tells us the hard truth, we’re pissed off or offended. Nowadays, we’re always offended. This person said something we didn’t like. People don’t want to hear the truth. They want to hear what makes them feel better or normal.
A little while ago, I started having these weird thoughts and sensations. My friends told me these are called “Feelings”. I had no idea. Completely foreign to me.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe it was Bartles & Jaymes who said, “Those who are looking for the easy way out, usually have the hardest time finding it”.
Feeling a little down? Full on depressed? Think you are or have gone nowhere in life? Don’t. You haven’t. You are doing just fine.
Years ago when I first moved to New York City, I had a couple friends I ran with trying out new bars, clubs and just whatever tomfoolery we could get into. When one night we passed a bar that looked really cool, yet it was empty. My gut feeling told me I had to go in. Best New York decision I ever made.
I, like you, probably get asked a lot of questions throughout the day. None bother me really, ask me anything. One question that really pisses me off and a question I don’t quite understand is: Why?
